Cookie Policy
Cookies on this site
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. It can make a site work properly, remember a choice you made, or measure how the site is used. This page explains what FenceCalc uses and how to turn any of it off.
Cookies we set ourselves
Functional and security cookies. Our hosting provider may set cookies that keep the site available, protect forms against abuse, and remember that a request came from you. Blocking these can break parts of the site.
No account cookies. FenceCalc has no user accounts, so there is nothing to log into and no login cookie to track you with.
Calculator state. Your layout, quantities and prices live in the page while you work on it, and some preferences are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. That information stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Third-party cookies
Where advertising is enabled on this site, advertising partners such as Google use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Those partners may use a cookie to show you advertising based on your prior visits to this site or other websites, and may combine it with data from other sites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also place or read cookies as part of serving ads and measuring their performance.
- Analytics, where enabled, uses cookies to count visits and identify which pages and tools are useful. We look at aggregated reports, not individual visitors.
Your choices
You can decline non-essential cookies and still use every calculator on this site. Where the law requires it, a consent notice appears before those cookies are set, and you can change your mind later by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser.
To limit personalized advertising:
- Google Ads Settings: adssettings.google.com
- Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out: www.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out: optout.networkadvertising.org
- For European visitors, www.youronlinechoices.com
Opting out of personalized advertising does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are based on the page you are on rather than on your browsing history. Browsers also let you block all third-party cookies, and extensions can block ad scripts entirely.
Do Not Track and similar signals
There is no agreed standard for how a site should respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Because we set no advertising cookies of our own, and third-party partners honor their own opt-out mechanisms listed above, we take no additional action on a Do Not Track signal beyond what those partners already provide.
Changes to this policy
If what this site uses changes materially, this page will be updated and the effective date below changed with it.
